Hi Everyone,
I was given an 105 diesel gallon transfer tank but needs repairs. There are two problems with it. First, one of the baffles is loose so it needs to be properly welded. Second, the tank is a few inches to wide to fit in my truck so it would need to be custom made to fit.
I would like to know what would be the safest way to accomplish this.
I would like to hear from anyone that has done it before.

Thanks

iI had to customize a diesel slip tank a few years ago as well. All i did was i washed it out with the pressurewasher and started grinding and welding .
And if its only Diesel it wont ignite like Gasoline would .
After i was done i washed it again. Worked well.
Good look

What about welding inside the tank?

I would also need to grind to remove completely the loose baffle and weld two new baffles. Would there be any problems having been used with diesel? Any ideas on how to get the job done?
My concern are the fumes once I start grinding and welding.

Thanks

Don't just blindly trust that diesel fumes won't ignite. I was on the receiving end of a slip tank explosion, and was deaf for about two weeks. Not including the broken ankle when I landed 20' away. Get the son of a ***** steamed out, or make sure your life insurance is topped up.
