Grease seems to dissipate when used in high load applications like this. The same thing seems to happen with a JD 9000 walker intermediate cylinder drive. You can pump half a tube of grease into it every season without any evidence of leakage. I've had many a drive apart and there is always some old grease dried up in the corners. The lubricating agent just dries up with the speed and load.
