Every so often, the 1010 header on our 2188 will stop lifting or lowering and the reel will stop turning. I have noticed that when this happens, the display shows that the engine rpm is at 0. Usually we just have to throttle back and it will show again and everything will work. We have a new RPM sensor on order, but I was wondering if anyone else has had this problem. Maybe there is something we are overlooking?
I think you are starting in the right place by changing the sensor. When you install the new sensor turn it in till it bottoms out and then back out 3/4 of a turn.
Just to update this, the new sensor did not fix the problem. We ended up replacing the monitor and have not had any problems since. As a bonus, there are now only 20 hours on the combine.
