Neighbor has one that had something run thru and damaged almost every section of the cage. Was wondering how bad of a job this is to change out and approx hours to do so. Thanks.
I'd contact PFP for a new cage, as far as hours your dealer should be able to give you a ballpark of how many hours it is to change. Its not an easy job thats for sure but its do-able.
Defiantly get new parts. If the support structure is damaged, new parts will make it apparent when they are installed.
Gleaner has been know to make a rotor every once in a while 20 years ago where the seperator cage would be 1/4 inch off and make the machine not run worth a darn. So be very particular with reassembly
Your friend should see if he has rock insurance. Otherwise I would say 120 hours is way high. Here it is less than one day for two to take out and basically a full day to put back in for two people. It is something that does take time. We have our cage out of our S77 at this time and usually in our conditions we have a cage out about every two or three years. Factory chrome lasts about 2 years for us. A forklift is very handy as well as a long attachment to balance the cage on and to get the concave out.
