We finished our 4th harvest with one S98 and the first harvest with another S98 and this year both transmissions look good and should be good for another year. In our hills with the electric shift the combine wouldn't stay in gear properly so at the beginning of the season the one combine was already on its fourth transmission bending shift rails and tearing up gears. This year washer shims were added to limit each direction the linear actuators could move. We never had troubles with the older manual shift transmission and problems began with the electric shift. Several others had the same issues with them in the hills.

Anyway if any of you flatter field operators have the S9 series with the electric shift I just wanted to report this seems to have cured the problem this year. The washers are set to stop the travel right at the detents.
