Has anyone ever put a 2188 seat and console in a 1688? The console with the hydro arm and such so you can run it like a 2188 with the auger in and out on the hydro lever. My neighbours 1688 the mice chewed the seat and cab wiring apart. We found an 2188 seat and hydro console at a wreckers cheaper than a 1688, is it possible to wire in and would it work? I thought it would be a neat upgrade, could have the new style controls with the old style power.

Good idea, how much time do you have to spend making it work? Just to make room for the seat and arm rest you would probably have to remove the original right side console. Then you might consider installing an A-post for your shaft speed monitors etc. It would take alot of figuring to make it all work. If you only wanted the hydro and throttle that would be easy, but after that look out!

We have a month or so. We are just looking at doing the hydro now with the auger in/out off/on, header and reel up and down, just like the 2188 and 2388's have on the hydro. Should be pretty easy as they are just switches and re routing the wires.
