Has anyone used a rock truck or rock truck trailer to do silage? Like a 30-40 tonne rock truck.
How did it work? How much can you haul compared to a semi gravel trailer?
Have any pictures or videos?

What province are you in? Here in Alberta, I inquired about using a rock truck for hauling dirt and manure. As it turns out, they are now road legal in Alberta. Meaning that they need to be registered and insured. Lights and brakes etc need to work. I assume the driver would need to have air brakes and a license. And that they would have to meet legal axle weight limits, but I couldn't get an answer about what that weight is.
Using a trailer behind a tractor would be a grey area. I'm told the definition of farm machinery is that it had to start out its life a farm machinery. Therefore repurposed construction equipment does not qualify as farm equipment, so the trailer may not be legal if push comes to shove.

I would think a rock truck or rock truck trailer would be too heavy for field use. I wouldn't want either on my land.
Definitely a lot more total weight. But the loaded PSI on the ground would be far lower than a conventional truck or trailer

Our neighbors did a bunch of dirt work for a new shop/bin yard and hauled a bunch of dirt across their fields to fill in low spots. They used a combo of articulated haul trucks and conventional FWA tractors with dump wagons. They were running the haul truck on the roads, but the county put a stop to that. You see everywhere they ran the haul truck, and not so much with the ag tractor and dump wagon. Only place you saw the tractor and wagon was in the wet spots and where they came off the road.

They use the the tractors and wagons for hauling silage, don't know the weights but with out side extensions they measure to the 2 times the volume of a 30 ton articulated haul truck.
