Anyone running the Small Tube Rotor (or the rice rotor) in corn or beans this year? How are you getting along with them? Notice any difference in setting the machine?

Re: Small Tube Rotor (rice rotor) in corn or beans

Have not been in soybeans yet. But in rice, the small tube is a hoss. Very smooth running, takes down rice very well, and seems to be more "friendly" to the crop
. We should be in soybeans in about 2 weeks if the weather holds up. I'll post later with the results on soybeans, and the rest of our rice crop. Can't help with corn as the 7010 will not be in any. Later

Thanks. I would be curious to hear what you think in beans. Have you been able to run the rotor slower in rice compared to the afx rotor?

I heard you can go as fast as the sickle will cut with a 36 foot draper in beans. I think the jury is still out with performance in corn though.

Right now we have not slowed the rotor speed down ( approx 850 rpm). That's not to say you can't, we just have not tried to because sample looks great. Really like this rotor.
