I'm 100% sure that I would have filled my pants on seeing that.
Fall off drill and break a body part probability too!

That is a huge snake at that earth latitude I’d say.
I am very VERY thankful that the only snake I am likely to see where I live is a garter snake. 😱
Bull snake by the size

Burn the drill to the ground

Used to work by the River by Jenner AB. Each year I would have a snake scare. Never got bit Ratters are more scared of you then you are of them.
Spring time was the worse’s when they came out of their dens and we’re moving around.
Still remember sticking my head in an enclosed box looking to shut off heaters from winter operations. Looked to the left and there was a Rattler curled up 3 feet away from me……the heater stayed on the whole summer
Only good thing was area was sour so the little buggers would not go into the process buildings.

Still shared ****less of them

Although the OP was fake I still believe you M. 😜
Bah guess the Ausplow was the give away

But by Buffalo area I once ran a .22 rifle down to a friend. He had a 6 foot bull snake get into the battery compartment of an old 555 Versitile tractor.
Think he shot it 3-4 times in the tractor before pulling the dead snake out.
He kept asking me are you sure this is a bull snake……I pointed at the tail and said no rattler.

This was all done with me in my truck with the window cracked an inch

I’m scared of snakes

No expert but for 4.5 I worked around them. Bull snakes did not bother me. I had a 7 foot BS living at my 13-5 gas plant. He was always by the old office sunning himself
But rattle snakes scared the hell out of me. No idea why. But I was excellent at spotting them. Look for a pattern not a snake since they blend in
First year I worked there I wore rubber boots the whole summer
Old saying was if there’s gophers there’s no snakes and vise-versa.

Very true. Judging by the number of gophers these days, rattlesnake population is in severe decline. I see maybe one a year. Plus people still actively kill them. We're not all brave like my neighbor (she's nearly 80) who puts a five gallon bucket over them and with a piece of plywood scoops them up and takes them out of her yard into the far fields and lets them go.
Good idea on the hose, why aren’t we using abrasive material rubber hose (pneumatic bulker type, cement etc) instead of this junk white plastic.

Agree, but how many would put up with the vastly higher cost?

Bourgault used that hose for a few years but what would happen is it would wear out on the inside and chunks would peel over and block the hose before it would wear through. I’m sure it was also a lot more expensive also.
nothing stopping people from putting that hose on their drill if they wanted.
Ideal would be whatever is used on sand blasting equipment for wear.

I'd pay twice the price for twice the lifespan in a heartbeat. Doing all 2.5 inch distribution hoses and seed/fert hoses once every 2-3 years is getting old, and really wasteful.

Only garter snakes here but give them the benefit of the doubt. I hate rodents. Even birds of prey I try to help them out. Don’t have rats but muskrats I do and seeing them crawling out of the water gives me the willies thinking they’re a rat. Anything which kills rodents are good.

Carpet snake
Harmless
Actually quite placid
Very common in old houses and sheds.
He was probably after a mouse or something and got stuck

They are huggers not biters 😁

I like to keep one in the tool box
You never know when you might need a snake to fix something 😂
