Looking for some guidance here as I am heading towards switching to an SP. I have been spraying for years with a 4WD truck with 5000L tank and rear boom. The engine died at the start of seeding this year and I couldn't get anyone to rebuild it quickly so took the decision to cut the front off and turn it into a tugalong. I HATE IT.
Spraying with the truck was at 22-24kmh. Rough paddocks we would slow down to 18. Pulling the same thing behind a Mcormick XTX185 even at 14-16kmh we are getting flogged around in the cab. My back won't stand for much more of this!
I look with interest at the new Goldacres G series. 4000L tank, 120ft boom, mechanical drive but only rear drive. Was thinking could buy rear floater tyres as well as the skinnies that come with it for those wet years. Going back in tank size is not such a big deal for me as I have a 26000L triaxle nurse tank.
Am I crazy or does that seem like a good idea. The mechanical drive is reputably a lot better on fuel?

I did over 12,000 hrs in a 4wd mitsubishi canter truck with a home made rig on the back.Have now had a Goldacres SP for 5 yrs.
The truck was great but the SP is whole nother step up....And yes, great on fuel too.
I`d be definately looking at another Goldacres.Hopefully 5/6000L and 42M boom.
Mal.
