Spray after 3pm, use bidirectional spray tip if you have, otherwise more water through a smaller tip works good. eg- 12us gal applied through tips you'd normally use for 10gal work, etc.

Reglone will not kill stuff dead anyway, so just spray what you'll harvest, covering waterways and sloughs are a waste of money. There are more economical ways of prepping your field for next year's seeding.

Usually skip the sloughs and non harvest areas anyways unless its roundup.

Was just wondering about the handling. Have heard guys talk about a full hazmat suit and its the worst chem you will ever handle on a farm and others just a good apron and rubber gloves and safe about it.

Don't quote me, but I think the toxicity levels of reglone is as high or higher than some insecticides. I have never looked it up myself.

You know what's bad about this, most of us use it and none of us really know.

Trust me on this, get it on your skin and it will burn it badly and it hurts like heck for weeks. Just one drop on my face last year that I didn't get cleaned quick enough or good enough and still had a scab during hunting season!

Handling Reglone

Yes it is one of the nastier herbicides, from memory LD50 of around 50-100mg/kg, not as bad as parathion that I think was around 5-10mg/kg.

Use all reasonable precautions , closed filtered cabin and gloves, glasses and practice good hygine and its OK, have soap and water etc, overalls would be good too.

Basically don't be stupid with it and it's OK, its not like handling plutonium.

Like using alpha cypermethrin, you'll only rub your face without washing your hands once!

Know guys that put on heaps of sunscreen as a barrier before using alpha-c.

Brother in law was using it in a back pack sprayer and got some on himself. Landed up going to the hospital because of skin burn.

Headline burns really bad too, i usually skip the jeans and wear shorts in July.. big mistake when spraying headline, got some nasty burns all over my legs. I'm probably going to skip 80% of my planned reglone this year and go with glyphosate & heat. If I was growing green lentils or green peas I would go with reglone.
