Does anyone spray over the top of the windrow of canola? can this be done or will it have a residue? We have a spray bar on our windrower, but want to speeds up the process. The other thing is we use our header front with lifters to pick up the rows. this is so any survivors get picked up buy the header put into narrow row and burnt. so basically the survivors under the row die anyway.

Back when we use to grow perenial rye grass, we had a lot of trouble with volunteers. One canola field that had been out of rye grass for about 3 years had such a nice carpet growing under it that we actually had the rep out to see if we should harvest the rye grass the next year! After looking it over, he didn't feel that the stand was even enough, so we sprayed it out with glyphosate. Probably a week or so after swathing.
