How's everyone's malt barley. I'm pretty sure 50% of the crop in our neck of the woods is sprouted. Pretty discouraging there is a big price difference between the malt contracted last sept. And open market feed.
yes , mostly 80% of malt growers around the world feel the same.
The anheuser bush or whatever there called today got 101 reason to cancel your contract and you have none, but somehow farmers keep growing the stuff cause they think they have a contract???
But you don't seed malt barley. You seed an accepted variety and hope mother nature takes care of you and it is selected as malt. Got very frustration in the elevator system when farmers were getting mad at me for this. "But I planted malt barley why are you paying feed for this?" Because it is light weight, shriveled, sprouted, mouldy, full of fusarium, do I need to go on?
Wait till they pull the chitted scam like they did here a few years ago, chitted is pre sproutted, somehow old binned barley that never saw a drop of rain was chitted.
