Has anyone used maywes or shoup stalk stompers on a 2200 series corn head.? I am installing maywes stompers on a 2208 and it looks like I will have to remove the skid shoe every time I want to remove head from combine and set head on ground. The reason is the stomper is lowwer than the head stand/pad that the head sets on. So the stomper will compress and be damaged. Are the shoup the same ? Anyone have a fix for this or any ideas. Thanks

I would think the shoups would work the same way, went I store mine for the winter I take the springs off so that it won't damage the spring, I have mine on a 1083 head.

I don't know if it will work on an IH with stompers but on our jd head we just cut 2x4 blocks that wont let the springs compress when we take the head off or store it for the winter. Just cut it to length at put it parallel to the spring . Al
