Trialed greenstar in the Lexion today RTK signal and through a hydraulic valve all I can say is absolutely fantastic. It was very responsive and was able to acquire the line very well during turns not one miss. I set the ab line and stayed on track all afternoon, I actually think the Lexion steered better than what our JD 9770's use to. Well done to Claas harvest centre Dalby and there tec man John. It's great to have another option well done guys. The setup is Greenstar 2630screen with an auto steer activation and at least a ITC receiver and the JD valve and hardware another thumbs up ;)

Would it not have been cheaper to just put in an ATU instead of a hydraulic valve? I did that with my lexion and it works very well.

I guess you are stuck with yet another screen though?
I don't suppose the 2630 is yield and moisture map compatible with CEBIS?

No it's just steering alone the point of the exercise is to see if a Lexion could be setup to use green star equipment with a Hyd valve to steer and steer well. In my neck of the woods green star guidance is every were there is a huge base station network and a lot of people own this type of guidance. I am trialing it for CHC to see if it will work and it does, so if you are wanting to go with a Hyd valve and use greenstar it is possible and it does work very well , it's always nice to know there are other options ;)

Aussie, we are getting the same fitted to our MY14 760TT. Ran a ATU200 in our 750TT and myself or the JD techs couldn't get it to stop snaking. Local dealer has quite a few Lexions running JD without ATU and cant fault it either.

Good to see that it works because JD GPS is very good. We just need Claas to have a dealer that isn't a 500 k round trip for parts and we might buy one.

You will be very happy with it Camel, it works as well as it does in any JD machine. I have the Trimble donut in my machine running on RTX satellite based 4cm doing the steering and yield mapping, it's good but the noise of it working all day s#%! me. The thing that has pissed me off about the green star system is that you have been tied to JD machines unless you use an ATU at least now you have the options of running green star with other brands and having it as a hydraulic valve is brilliant. Why not change to other steering systems you say, because I have 4x JD systems in tractors and the spray rig the whole farm is set up using green star, the RTK network on the downs is great anywhere we go contracting we can get onto the RTK network and if you can't you can buy a month of sf2 and it is great in a combine, sprayer or tractor for one off passes in the field.

I hated the noise of the ATU, buzzing all day. Plus you cant leave your hands on the wheel because its always correcting.

The guys at Claas harvest centre in Dalby are working on putting together kits at the moment, I am just running it for them in my Lexion for our harvest to make sure it all works properly at this stage no dramas. Give them a ring they will sort you out.

When runnin the guidance through the Deere display is it still the same layout on the screen as if yoy were using guidance in a tractor or is it a different setup?

Axle I will get you an email address and pm you. The run page info is only what you would get if you were steering a tractor, you are not hooked into the combine so there is no yield moisture or any other combine data, the screen only talks to the receiver and the steering valve mapping or any other combine function is in cebis still. Drop them an email the address I am sending you will get you on the right track ;)

Are you using the Reichardt interface to make use of the JD display and GPS with the LEXION steering valve?

It's all JD greenstar all the components were purchased from JD no Claas valve used. I'm not sure about the finer details but it wasn't to straight forward but so far they have got to guide the Lexion and the Axion 900 series tractor on the RTK Greenstar network here and do it well. Get in touch with CHC Dalby or Landpower Aust for the technical details they will be happy to help

The new 2630 JD screen has a program upgraded for it now that allows you to follow third party types of guidance lines like Trimble, Ag leader & Beeline. Once you up grade the program on your 2630 look in your set track page you will have another drop down menu once you set your new track that will allow you to choose JD or non JD 1 & non JD2. Non JD1 for the likes of Bee Line Non JD2 for Trimble, makes life a lot easier when working in fields set up using other guidance :)

Not sure were the guys are up to, have they not emailed you back yet? They're putting the same setup in our new Axion 930 should have it soon :). Give them another email and shake them up a bit, I am pretty sure that James is doing up procedure manuals for the installation of the JD components into Claas equipment. A quick note as well, the Trimble gear we are using for steering and yield mapping in our Lexion prior to this trial is a very good option as well, the RTX 4 cm signal that we have been using has been great this trial we have been doing by no means takes anything away from the great job the Trimble gear & guys have done for us we just wanted to investigate other options :)

I think the best way forward for anyone overseas looking to steer thier Lexion with Greenstar should talk to thier dealer and get them to contact Landpower Aust and talk to thier Lexion specialist and get the details on kits to suit the the application you are looking for. I think there is a bit of a concern that customers supplied with kits overseas will not be able to get the sort of backup if there are dramas that they can give to Aus customers (something about opening a can of worms ;) ) Not that I can see any issues. We are now steering our Axion 930 with greenstar with an RTK signal, I have done the last 170hrs planting and side dressing our wheat and barley with no dramas.
