Anyone know anything about the air chute kit part# ah208382 from deere. Just purchased a 9650sts, have noticed on a few other 9650s and all 60 series I have looked at are equipped with these air chutes in front of the chopper. What is their purpose? Are they worth the $300 plus they cost? Have run a 9500 for the last 17 years so I know little about these sts machines. Thanks..

They reduce air pressure build up so the chaffer can perform as intended. High rotor speeds and high fan speeds used in wheat for example, move more air then the chopper can move hence the chutes.
If you get them make sure they come with that rubber flapper that keeps them cleaned out.
