How many pounds of sunflowers would be considered a great crop. I was thinking 2000 lbs, and maybe 1800. This is dry land flowers. Have a guy who says they should be around 2600. Is this for real? Never done flowers before.
2600 lbs for this time of year is about right but come October 1800 is easily where it might be. Stalk rot, head rot, birds, wind, snow all have to be avoided to achieve 2600.
2600 lbs is easily achievable. We averaged that one year on 1000 acres. Also averages as low as 1600 lbs. I'm talking about confects. A dry august is a must to achieve the high yields. We had pretty well given up on growing them but the prices offered this year we good enough to start again.
