anyone use a steinbauer on this tractor, if so did you have any problems with error codes or anything else. just looking at possibility of putting one one.

Also not sure why steinbauer site lists the engine as a 12.7 liter when it is a 12.9 liter

We had to put 1 on last year. Helped a lot and had zero issues with anything else. It just magnified the other problems though, very light tractor compared to the big frame ones and the sluggish shifting. Shouldn't be allowed to call this a 500 horse tractor, a lot closer to the old 9882 than to the TJ500.

A T9.505 is only 450 engine horsepower. So it would be comparable to a 9882.

New Holland refers to their models as bulge HP and Case uses rated HP. It may be worth getting your dealer to do a recalibration of the tranny, it can help it some situations.

I'm also interested in a Steinbauer module for my T9.615, I'd like to hear others opinions as well.

Yah I ve looked at the website already I know which one I need to order. I'd like to hear some specifics from operators, did they see a decrease in engine power usage? How did it affect fuel consumption? Def consumption? Was it a significant enough increase to warrant adding more ballast?

Yea it was totally our fault, didn't do our homework at all. One of those deals when the salesman shows up with a good price and you believe the sales pitch instead of checking yourself. :sFun_rottentomato:

Don't forget, I have two of those modules(#220553) for sale.

It will run with more bottom end torque and run at a lower % power use but I doubt a properly ballasted tractor would need more, it's not that dramatic of a change. Aren't you running tracks? I would say for sure no if you are on tracks.

I think a programmer like Ekotuning has more to offer than just adding duration onto the end the injection event like steibauer does. My experience tuning my Dodge trucks has shown that a programmer works better than a plug in chip. I have a programmer from Ekotuning on the way for our 9320 JD we'll tune it for 9420 specs. (Same tractor just different engine tuning)
