Picked up a Axial Flow product support kit book yesterday at the dealer, noticed that they offer a "Tailings volume monitor" kit for the 21 series combine. Have any of you "21 series" owners put this on your machine?

Have not priced it yet but imagine it's quite expensive. This tailing elevator area was ALWAYS a problem when I was running a 1480. Other than a longer shoe and transverse fan, I can't see that anything has changed in this area on the 2188. Have not ever ran a 2188, and won't be able to untill wheat harvest, but understand that they will plug in wheat that has cheat in it.

Your thoughts please.....

Trakman,

I don't honestly know what changed, but we ran a 1680 for a couple of years that seemed to plug the tailings all the time.

The 2188's we currently run do not seem to exhibit the same problem. I don't think we've plugged it but once or twice in 1000 hours. One of those times was due to a Craftsman wrench being left in on the sieve. It had a little trouble turning the corner into the elevator
