Frost boils. Good grief. The wheels stopped turning and skidded on the frost a meter down.

It’s hard to say. Four tracks did pull it to that spot before it spun out ballasted to 65000 lb. now. All on the back.

Well like Grandpa used to tell me "Boy, sometimes you can do everything right and everything will still go wrong." Nothing you can do about that situation except get a cable or tow strap and pull her out and hopefully not bend anything. Still stinks to burn at least half a day dealing with something like that.
First delta I've seen with weighted ballast! Must pull like a freight train now!
I think there’s possibly going to be more to the story. There is a logical reason why we removed this wheel assembly. It was only to make a template and measure the orientation of the wheel mounting hard points on the space frame of the cart. It’s the same reason one track was taken off the 2300 bushel grain cart and sent off to a third party's shop on a trailer. Hopefully it results in a three piece axle assembly kit that passes under the air tubes. We shall see.

That's a pricey in season upgrade. Must be going on all four corners?
Ah! The zero tire pressure solution.

That’s what is being worked on. The rear tracks won’t bolt to the wheel hubs because they are a longer 4 roller version like used on grain carts with support on the outer end of the 4 inch pivot shaft.

I was surprised to see these front ones on there already this morning. I believe they make a difference, by not flexing the soil before the heavier rear axle rolls over. I had the rear end break through today after a partial cart fill but managed a pull through with the Versatile. That is one awesome tractor. I’m not sure it needs front ballast, I think it might undo some of its greatness by cantilevering some of the mass off the rear. Not sure. The front weight bracket isn’t available right now anyway.
does it ever make you wonder if an old 30ft flexicoil or Morris could float right over for the first few days??!!!
Once we get it’s ground bearing ratio in line with what it should be it will likely cover about 3000 acres a week, and that sometimes can mean starting a week before some of other outfits around can work. In reality this machine is being set up for a tractor size that isn’t on the market yet. It will be awhile yet before we even contemplate filling that cart right full.
You need tracks all the way around.
Yes he's planning to do that:

Now if that photo don’t sell some tracks nothing will. DAMN! Just what’s going on under the surface there!

Trapped money, from what I’ve seen
