I am considering a Lexion 730 for corn soybean grain farm. Looking at them is overwhelming with complicity compared to my MF 9540. Salesman says they are the best & easiest to set. Everyone around has JD or CIH & seems to run nonstop. A large farmer leased 3 of these 400 series back in the late 90s & said it took 3 because 1 was always down, & that they were made of Budwieser cans. I know nothing about these but that Claas is a big machine & said to be efficient. How are they for ease of switching from crop to crop & maintenance as well as reliability?

I think Claas out of all of the brands out there has come the farthest in the last 10 years in all the areas of concern you listed. The 700 series from what I've seen and heard from owners is light years different from the 400 series.

When you lift the shields you will see right away that they are not built from beer cans, the first thing you will notice is how much heavier they are built than a Deere or a Case IH.

The guy who has the longest experience with Claas's here in the area originally had a 485 and now has a 760. He said that Claas had addressed almost every gripe he had with his 400 series on the new machines.

I'm as Much as I loved my 485 trouble free was not a accurate description stuff broke on that thing claas had never even heard of lol. But I will say the.500 and 700 fixed about every problem we ever had with the 400s. It's like comparing a 7700 to a sts frankly or a 915 to a 8020 ih

Our Massey had issues the day they had delivered it & after the 1st season of issues Agco addressed most of them but there are several of them that continue with the 2nd season & several more that popped up. Im tired of being a test dummy as down time & grain losses are costing me & after warranty runs out this machine will brake me in repairs.

Yes excellent dealer for Claas but 45 minutes away at the closest point. Deere & CIH are 15 minutes away & that is a majority of what is running in the area. I assume the dealers will stock parts for as many combines that are running here, & then I can run to the next dealer 45 minutes away.
