I need to replace the thresher raddle chain idlers at the rear of the housing. My service manual does not cover this process. Does anyone have any information they care to share on this? The machine is a Gleaner L3
It's been a long time but you undo the chain ( it might be able to be done loosing the chain right off ??) then there are bolts down the side that hold the assembly on just in front of the idler and they slide out towards the back. Have a look at the parts book.
Loosen the chain off down in front, open access door behind drivers side tire and go in feet first. Remove idlers, replace and retighten chain. 3/4 or 15/15 wrench. Also easier to open most access doors for more light. Never had to remove rattle chain yet. Remember to take all necessary precautions when working under feeder house or inside machine!
