How do you go about check the tin above the rotors on a TR98 or 99 when purchasing a used machine. I hear that they wear out and rocks can really mess them up. How hard and expensive are they to replace if they need to be?

Thanks for any help.

They aren't fun to replace. Ours wore out twice now. it seems to wear most where the returns dump back into the rotors. Not an easy thing to check on a used machine however.

Not sure what they cost. Its a couple of years ago now and we put in high wear ones. Didn't get the money's worth on that purchase though.

a greater wear area is face tin on sides of rotor . remove door and look to front of concave. you will see a curved piece of steel that material slides over before it gets to concave. it will wear through and ears of corn will come through.you will find corn still on cob and wonder how it got through machine, but it leaked through hole and on to shoe with out going through rotor.
