So we're trying out a Topcon system 350 with the X30 and RTK on one of our swathers this season, if it goes well we will be getting the rest of the machines outfitted. We have the HiPer Ag base station that I want to keep at the shop. My only concern is how far out will the base station reach? Will I need another base station? I am looking at a repeater for the times that we are in spots that are down in a hole, will the repeater increase the distance of the RTK signal? I want to get everything setup right before we do have a problem once we start cutting. Thanks.

It depends a lot on weather your radio it 900 or 450 hz and how high your base antenna is I have an older 450 2watt hiper xt only 40 foot high and i can reach all my paddocks ,the furthest is 16km, but the trimble guy in town has town with a 450 hz 30 watt radio that reaches here which is 50 km with a few dropouts . This is all on flat country with lots of trees, i know nothing about performance in hills
