I've had TR's since I started farming 20 years ago. Considering updating machines from my TR86. . I only farm 200 acres but custom harvest another 350. Would you choose the TR89 or 2166? I already have the heads for the New Holland, a 6 row 974 and a 20' 973. Which machine would have the most capacity?

Had TR85, TR98, CR9060 and neighbor has a 2166, I think a TR89 would eat a 2166 easy.
2166 has more modern looking cab & controls but they're only a toy, small sieves, small grain tank. TR89 would be my choice.

A TR 89 2000 model with 2200 hours just sold at Richie Bros for 14500. Wow the depreciation on these TRs is sad. I used to work for a NH dealership and everyone I sold too loved them

Both would be plenty of combine for your acres and both are darn good simple/reliable combines that will do a good job. Since you have run TRs for 20 years and have the heads I would stick to the NH. But the Case combines of that era were very good too, we were seriously looking at 2188s and 2388s when we bought our TR97. If a good deal comes up on a Case combine I wouldn't hesitate to buy it.

Don't know the difference in capacity. If you like your NH stick with it. You won't be disappointed.
