Would like to run the grain cart on a tractor that doesn't have PTO because the PTO tractor is like everything else, getting older. Tractor we are thinking of using has 30 gpm hydraulic pump capacity (9370 caseih). Does there exist a grain cart drive pump that will work with the limited 30 gpm tractor? Grain cart has a 17" diameter unload tube. Yes, I understand unloading will be slower but unsure how slower. We are willing to part with a tractor for slower unload speeds. We are not in a big rush when unloading. Crops are wheat, barley, canola. Advice?
It will work just fine, get a pump that runs off 2 remotes. It actually works amazingly well, there will be a pressure gauge on the drive you will figure out real quick where the max is.
I used a 9390 tractor on an Ez-Trail 710 hydraulic drive for a couple years, got along fine. Have wheat and sunflowers, after figuring things out things went good without a problem. Like you, not a massive urgency to unload at high rate, worthwhile purchase for this mom and pop farm.
I switched over this year cuz of wet harvest. worked great. I have 50 gpm though. I was about 65% of my pto for speed of unload.
