I have an older JD 9400 with a JD Atu Steering wheel mounted on it. It is not autotrac ready. I am wondering if I can run the steering wheel with the trimble system because we are all trimble on the farm, and training everyone on a new system is not in my interest. The tractor did not come with any greenstar equipment except the steering wheel system. Has anybody tried this before? Maybe this has been covered in a thread here before, but I can't find it if it has. Any insight is appreciated.

nope. they don't like to plug and play with other companies. once your in with one company your stuck with them unless you really want to pay to get out and switch.

It won't work with Trimble, just like an ezee-steer won't work with a Greenstar system. You can still get a few dollars for a used ATU, sell it and get Trimble wheel.
