Has anyone ever put triples on a TR98. We are fighting mud real bad in SD. I have duals with 42 in rubber and was wondering if the final drive and rims would handle a band dual that would be two inches smaller than the current tires so it would only carry load when we started to cut in. Any one every try this or had any experience?

that would be realllly hard on the axel and shafts. i would say it would be a no go. if you are that desperate to get into the field, be ready to break and axel.

remeber that a tr98 holds about as much grain and as a new deere with bin extentions. they are not designed to add new preasure points on the axels. i have been told that you increase the risk of breaking axels 50% on the tr line when adding duals.

That is kind of what I thought also but thought I would see if anyone had tried it. The local tire shop is putting big tires and triples on all kinds of JD's. It will be interesting to see if they all hold up or if they break the final drives. We will just wait and hope it freezes hard before it snows???
