Hi Folks, recently bought TX68 and had problems with starting the engine, the 24v /12v relay seems to fart around till it engages and provides power to the starter motor.
My main agent has had a look at it but unwilling to replace the large relay as he says they are robust and never go wrong. batteries are new, starter motor reconditioned, anyone had similar problems, its my first season with the tx 68 , a late 1996 model, 24ft header 2000 hrs, and goes well in barley.
thanks for any advice john

My 96 model about once every 3 or 4 starts needs to have the key klicked on and off
2 or 3 times to get it to start. It just klicks back on the parallel series contactor when it
wont start. I always thought I would take the contactor apart if it got any worse, and
clean up the points but it never seems to get worse and I just live with the little problem.

Don't know if they are similiar to the TX 36 system but we developed a starting problem this fall as well. After lots of looking and quite a few starts jumping the terminals on the starter we finally found the problem to be a starting relay that is mounted under a cover by the engine next to the radiator. Just a simple 5 pin Bosch relay. Must have not been making good contact took it out and cleaned the terminal and amazingly enough no more problem (fingers crossed and knocking on wood).
