I don't have any magic. I think it must have more to do with location. We are relatively close to a port and I think we can all agree that tractor trailers are the most expensive part of the freight bill.

So if you wanna pencil out a dollar profit for yourself why would you pre buy $.50 lbs urea .
Same with canola seed lets all wait with pre buy and tell the the compagnies that rip you off to take a hike , and see you in the spring!!!!
It's the only way to forces prices down!

Have on farm storage have paid for its self many times over by buying in the fall.

easier said then done,
did that last year got burned HARD.
didn't book most of the fert, ended up costing lots of more money.
same with seed, didn't book all the varieties in the beginning (canola) ended up with variety that I didn't want.
they own the market wheter you like it or not, too many of us, to few of them

If price is close to what it was last year your best price will probably be now. If it's like $100/t. more then last year, then wait. If it's $100/t. less then last year buy more storage and fill the bins or tanks.
Doesn't seem like fertilizer prices care about grain prices anymore.
