So is anyone on here running one this season? Or has anyone seen any around?

Was told by dealer that there are 8 of them sold in Montana.
Possible, but seems high.
I agree Don has anyone on the forum bought one were all waiting
Just heard today second hand a guy from Cut Bank Mt area is leasing 2 of them. Replacing 4 2388 combines. Very curious how they work. I may have to make time to go ride on one for a bit. Again, second hand I was told the lease cost for 2 was the similar to 1 JD or Case. I have no idea on details with the lease.
Might be them!

Saw two sitting at a dealer west of Havre MT on Wednesday.
2-3 running in our area. What i am hearing....the owners seem to be happy with it.
seen 3 east of here, they look small but we will see how they perform
Versatile likely gave away all of their demo combines they have been sitting on for the last 2-3 years. They couldn't even get them cleaned up for indoor farm shows. Couldn't hardly get near them for the rotten grain smell emanating from their bowels.
Ian ,you are correct 2 are going out to Cutbank with 4040 Honeybee headers ,show and tell is planned for mid August .
I posted a picture last night and it wouldn't open this morning so deleted it.
Had me confused, who is Ian :) Name is Lance Wickum. I used my email name I got probably 15 years ago.
I emailed the guy getting the combines. He is going to help a neighbor cut some nice winter wheat. When it is ready I will try to get over and take a ride on them.

That's a pretty honest mistake I'd say.

Yes, a forum member field report on the RT490 would be great as well as the first one I believe!:)
Well 8 machines sold in each state, times 50 states....yeah that's gonna pay the bills to keep a company profitable?!?!?!? Probably doesn't even covered certification expenses for the EPA!
Emissions certification is tied to the engine for off road equipment (and HD trucks)
By the sound of it you guys can keep there combine. I was reading that rostelmash company owns 17% of the combine market.
IF the price to lease vs the major 2 companies is close to what I hear. I may want to keep one of their combines. With the volume of combines rostelmash makes we can hope they know how to make one.
Hoping to get a demo this fall. Just attended an open house for a new Versatile dealership opening in Barrhead. Looks like a well built machine. Pricing seems attractive.

Talked to a fellow from Saskatchewan today who is running 2 of them, and likes them. Time will tell what happens.

Tell him to share his joy lol
Can you imagine what the release will be? Or if you buy one, don't like it, and try to trade for a different color? Parts availability? These are the scary questions, it's not just how it runs in the field. I, too, saw it at a big farm show, and it wasn't cleaned up very well and had oil leaks all over that were not cleaned up...speaks volumes to me about the company that wants to sell them here....
They are selling them with a Leasing Contract with no down payment. I think the contract is 3-5 years. If you don't like it....you can easily return them.
Parts are stocked by Versatile in Winnipeg. Further they have 3 mechanics from the factory in the case there would be anything wrong or where mechanics need a help, plus a stand-by-machine if you need one.
I don't drive one right now, but if you see the numbers, you start to think about it.;)

Its no John Deere, its a new company entering the market. Nothing wrong with that, competition is good.

Russians are not known for "pretty" or "fancy", they are known for just making stuff work, a bit crude and simple but it works.

I like things clean, fancy and pretty myself but I do not judge a company on appearance alone. The fact versatile just brought used machines to a farm show wouldn't bug me. The fact they didn't clean them with a tooth brush doesn't bug me either. It can be a reflection of how good the service is, but it also can be misleading. Maybe all of their resources are stuck into service and not polish.

If you don't want one thats fine, they do not appear to be entering the market to go after the "fancy" combines, they appear to be entering as a cheap efficient machine that makes money. Time will tell, you don't have to buy one if you dont want to. Some people like to try new things outside their bubble and theres nothing wrong with that, others prefer a smaller world and thats fine too. I personally could give a fart about combines but like following this one because of the childish criticism many have over it.

Looked at one briefly at the FPS. Looks scrapped together.....grinder marks and poor welding. Being Russian made, it was made by people that don't care and could very well have been drunk at the same time. Anyone that buys one will be married to it till death do you part. Good luck getting parts too when the sanctions against Russia are all stacked up. Would be interesting to see one working though non the less...
