Does anyone know how to test for problems with the grain loss sensor behind the rotor on an 2008 9870? I have tried the tapping with the screwdriver method and nothing shows up on the monitor. Both of the shoe sensors work fine. I need to know if it is a faulty sensor or a shorted wire, etc.
Is there any way to diagnose these problems through the command center. I talked to one of the local service techs and he said to make sure it has been calibrated (i.e.- 10 strikes should register in the range of 5-15 if the vision track is "calibrated" right???). He didn't know off the top of his head how to do the 70 series, only the 50 and 60s. He didn't have his laptop. Service manager also very busy....... couldn't get a hold of him. I figured you guys would probably know what to do.

While you were tapping on the pad was someone in the seat with the header switch on? If so my bet is that the pad is bad. I have replaced over a dozen pads this year so far and we are 2/3 done with harvest.
