Looking at some 5000bus. hopper bottoms. Are the Viterra bins the same as Westeel? Heard somewhere they are not. Anyone with Viterra and Westeel hoppers, how do they compare to each other?
A Viterra bin is a Westor bin, a cheaper and slightly different design. Roof isn't as good, gauge isn't as thick. Don't really know specifics. A friend says they have trouble with snow coming in them.
When pricing 30,000 bushel bins last year from viterra we had a choice on whether we wanted them to say westeel or westor. Then just put a different sheet in the bundle. Reason they do it is so all bins in a yard can have the same name on them.
Ok I did some digging, you guys are right about westor, I never knew that! Passed up on some bins in past because they said westor, oh well I know. And a Viterra is a superior bin, 2 gauges lighter than westeel.
