I'm running a 9860 sts with a 35 foot hydro flex head in 70-100 bushel winter wheat in very steep ground combine also has a hillco leveling system on it. We are running into power problems and are going to chip the combine. wondering if anyone has done this to a 9860 and what you are running? We are thinking of going with the ADS chip but are scared 30% might be to much in the sense of melting an engine? Any one have any input on this or other chips to look into?

I have one called the "BOX" it workes pretty good. Saving about 3 to 4 gallons per hour of fuel compared to the other 9860. It comes from DSG in saskatoon running a 936d regardless of conditions engine rpm never drops.

HP 9000 works good on 12.5 jd engine. Have installed a couple on 9860 combines and one on a 7300 self-propelled hatvester. Only thing I would like to see on them is a switch to let you select between stock, a low power setting and high power setting like most of the other ADS boxes have. Not everybody wants a full 30 %. Alot of people would be happy with 15 %.

The only 9750 I show in my application chart has a 8.1L engine in it.
If it has the later model 12.5L JD engine it should work .
I will check in the am and let you know.

It's an 03 9750 that was only made for canada as far as i know. Has the bullet rotor in it now, so it should be pretty much the same thing as a 9860 other than higher unload rate...

Agreed that the ADS works well on 12.5. Yes it'll also work on a Canadian special.

Don't forget the weaker drive belt on the 9750 vs the 9860. Some neighbors of ours chipped their "western specials" and they couldn't keep drive belts on them to save their life. They had a pickup bed full of burnt belts at the end of the year. On a stock 9860 you can't smoke the belt it will kill the combine.

No problems

We chipped our JD 6850 spfh from 450 hp with a 30% program to 585 hp and have had no problems with the 12.5 L. We even put on a pyrometer on and have had no issues with more heat. At night when the cool air comes on we would be running 1200 to 1250 degrees before the turbo. My opinion is that in a combine you will have no issues. A chopper has a lot tougher life than a combine if you've ever ridden in one. We pushed it all the time. I wouldn't go back to stock and fuel efficiency went up!
