What does this do? (Gleaner L)

I replaced the fuel filter on my Gleaner L and noticed fuel coming out of this thing (see attached photos). It looks like some sort of sensor. It is just below the primer pump. When I tried to prime the injection pump this thing was leaking pretty bad. The wire wasn't connected to anything. What does it do? Do I need it? Could I just plug the hole it came out of?

Thanks!

Oil pressure sending unit. Agco has them.
Fuel delivery sensor. You don't necessarily need it. Plug the line.
Sorry fuel instead of oil, would guess it shows restriction. Looks exact same as oil pressure unit.
fuel restriction indicator.

in a pinch just plug it with I beleive a 1/4 inch pipe plug, but it may be 1/8 inch.

it is nice to have though. :)
