Curious to know were everyone likes to run there 12.5. And why? We run a 9400 and 9420. Normaly pulling 62' JD 1830 drill or 50' summers chisel plow. We don't like running over 2000 as we were told they will last longer and pull no better. 90% of the time they run between 1850-2000 RPM to keep good coolant flow and turbo boost.

We usually run our 9520 anywhere from 1600 rpm on a light load to 2000 on a really heavy load like a scraper. Big difference on fuel consumption on light loads if it is run at 1600rpm versus 2000rpm.

On my 93, usually between 1750-2050 with anything above 2000 reserved for transport or hard pulling with the big chisel plow.

On a side note for those with a jd monitor, is the fuel usage accurate or not? Don't have a meter to check against.

Our 9420 shows 20-22gph sucked right out and is fairly close. The 9400 only shows 12-13gph max???? Not sure how they calculate fuel usage, but would think they should be close to each other???

Have you ever kept track of gallons at the fuel tank? Know a family that ran a 9400 and added a 9430t and it used twice the fuel the 9400 did. Our 9400s are alot better on a lite load than our 8960, you just as well have a load on it.
