Hello, I am just wondering about thoughts on the size of a corn head to look at for an FX40 NH. (428 hp). I live in western Canada and corn tonnage is probably going to range on poor to good years 12 to 18 tonnes an acre. I am wondering if I should go with an 8 row and slow down a bit so as it is not so rough on the trucks and harvester, or would I be going to slow in the heavy spots. I don't want to have to go 6 MPH to keep it full in a 10 tonne crop, but I don't want to be clutching a 10 speed truck all the time either due to only going 1 mph. wondering too if I go slower, if I would be able to cut lower to the ground and not have to worry about digging the header in at lower speeds. I have never operated a harvester, so am clueless about any of this. Any comments appreciated. Thanks
