9760s running with small wires, put the 3 filler straps on the front concave and on the back 3rows of fillers on right side and 2 rows on left. I've been thinking is the variety but maybe you experts could help me out!!
We grew a few varieties that are bad for white caps, I think we had front concave blanked and possibly two stripes on the middle concave but did not have any fillers in the back of the rotor because we dont ussually get wheat straw that dry that it breaks up in the rotor. Also found that we had to run rotor at about 980 rpm and concave up to about 2 for a setting. The worst varieties we have seen were harvest and bounty, we quit growing them for this reason.
Well that is about the same settings that we run. There has been a lot of trouble with white caps around here last couple years, but that is when I got the JD before that my 2388 did an excellent job, but who knows I do have different varieties now. We use Briggs and Traverse.
