Why did Case IH number the new combines the same as some of the tractors? Such as the 7120 and 5088?

Not very creative are they.... JD have two 8430's in their tractor range about 30 years apart.

its bound to happen that the numbers will get reused later on down the line

Deere has a 9400 tractor, 9400 combine, and 9400 drill. Talk about confusing.
