I blow it out with air and spray down with motor oil cut with varsol followed by fluid film. Previous owner never cleaned it out and meter boxes are rusted pretty bad so I'm trying to coax another few years out of it.
Whoops, read and replied on my phone while spraying, thought you were talking about the air tank seed and dry metering. Sorry for my confusion.
I have taken the "do nothing" approach now for quite a few years. No plugs and everything works.
Just take some time and tighten any hose clamps prior to pressurizing the system. They seem to loosen themselves over winter.
Hey Jason, that's what I was thinking just fill the system with 28-0-0. We used to always drain the system as best we could and hope for the best (which we never did have a problem but would like to be a little more proactive).
