I am looking at 2 used 2388 combines from when production moved
to Neb from Moline, IL
one is 17th produced other is 50th
Have not checked warranty claims one has 600 hours
other around 500.
Would you be afraid of either one? I had a New Holland TR95 off
first run once it was nightmare .
But since the production point not product design changed
would this matter.
Thanks JB

On an original design, the first machines made would be slow to put together, and the parts inside might not be a good match together. When assembly is moved, I'm sure there were a lot of employees new to the 2388. I'm going to guess the line was a little slow the first week or so while people got used to how things go together, and I'd bet they got combed over by people that know how stuff should go together.

I'd personally like to see what the warranty sheet looks like on it before purchase, but barring anything there that would have been the result of assembly, I'd be fine.

Even if that machine had an engine or rotor gear box issue - I don't think those parts are put together on the line. They're probably put together somewhere else, and thus would have no effect on who puts the machine together.
