What are the settings you guys use on your 2388's in wheat? Also what do you expect for capacity out of this machine? We are doing 3.8 to 4.3 mph in 70 bu/ac spring wheat on 25' swath.

We have 3 small wire concaves in. Concave setting at 0.9. Fan at 1100 and rotor at 950? (I'll check tomorrow)
As far as capacity wise that sounds about right. Been running around 3.0-3.5mph in 15 moisture 60 bu/ac wheat with a 30' draper head. AFS monitor shows about 600 bu/hr.
Case has a good starting point. It depends on how hard it is to thresh, hard crank the rotor up to 1000. Easy open concave to 2.5ish and slow rotor down to 880-920. I like to slow rotor and or open concave till it starts to leave a few in the head, then speed it back up/tighten it down incrementally till it threshes it all out. This will free up some power and get you some more capacity. If straw isnt to tough it should be at least a 1000bph combine.
Rotor is 930 empty and 870 loaded, concave at 1.7, chaffer half open, shoe about 3/8, fan 1150. Doing roughly 850bu/hr. I think it should be able to do better. It's a really easy thrashing wheat with short straw. Getting a bit frustrated.
Open sieve a bit. Try a bit faster rotor and open concave. Air and fuel filters clean? Take back cover off of fuel injection pump losen 10mm jam nut and turn slot 1/3-1/2 turn clockwise. Tighten waste gate 6 turns, then smile. What rotor?
It has the specialty rotor in it with new rub bars. Maybe I am just expecting too much. It's not like it's dragging it's ass, was just hoping for a bit more. Thanks for the replies.
I agree with farminflyboy. The best thing i ever did to my 2388 was turn up the pump. The rotor sped stayed constant and i ran 1 to 1.5 mph faster with no increased rotor loss.
go one narrow concave in the front and and the play with you seives we never have run 3 narrow wire with 70 bushel crop you need that seed out the rotor only way your gonna do that is run narrow two wides rotor flat out wind 1050
Limiting factor is seed loss. It had gotten a bit better but then we had something major go wrong in the pto so our machine is down for a few more days. Dealer got us a replacement 2188 in the mean time. Had a service call done on it yesterday afternoon and then last night got a P2 error code so they have to come out and fix this darn thing again. Frustrating couple days!
