Cabcam to watch sprayer booms?

Last spring I had trouble with all the mud coming off the duals on the back of our Miller Condor and cracking the plastic nozzle body housings. Being as they are right behind the wheels, I cant see when they need to be changed or the tips need to be unplugged. Has anyone tried mounting a Cabcam or something on the back of the sprayer to watch the center section? Where did you mount it? Did you have issues with the lenses getting full of dust and chemical? We were talking about getting some for the air drill to make it a little easier on Grandpa since he refuses to cut back on his time in the big tractor.

Anyone have any other ideas?

Not sure how the Miller is set up, but on my brother's 3185 we just got some longer flat bar and bent it to the right shape and drilled some holes in it and remounted the spray bar on it. The hose was still long enough if I remember correctly. This is just for the middle section of the sprayer. Getting the spray a few feet farther back from the tires will significantly cut down on the air disturbance caused by the tires and give better control behind the tires..

We mounted a cab cam under the cab just ahead of the rear axle of our JD high clear to watch the middle section. It is also really nice for backing up and watching how well I am staying between the rows with fats on in row crop. Spray pattern is hard to see at certain times of day due to sunlight but you can generally tell when a nozzle is plugged. Lense stays clean, maybe wiped it off once or twice through one season.

This is a far better idea than the one I was told about the other day at a sprayer meeting. One guy was saying how his son will walk along the catwalk and check the back tips while going down the field in auto steer.:eek::confused:
