Went to Sigmans sale today and lo and behold there was a lat tilt kit that seems to be all there. Since I planted a snout off of our head this fall, I thought that this could help prevent a repeat performance if we could get it cheap- which I think we did. Now for the question , how in the heck am I gonna get this thing hooked up to our 89 1/2 R50 to use it for an ahhc on our early hugger? Kit # is700951537. Thanks for any help.

mcook,

We just upgraded to an R62 this season. Absolutely love the machine. We ran Gleaner conventionals before. Thankfully all of the threshing components in the 62 we bought are in good condition. We would buy bars and concaves from St. John Welding located in St. John, Kansas for our conventionals. We loved their product and prices. Might be worth looking into. Here's their website.

mcook,

I do believe they offer hard chrome products also but not 100% sure. We've had really good luck with their hard surface on wearing compared to standard bars from the dealer. Living in South Central KS we farm mainly wheat with a little milo and soybeans so we're not very hard on bars or concaves. Might be some others that have more corn and soybean experience with their products.

They've been in business a long time and are very knowledgable with Gleaners. I think their phone number and email address is at the bottom of their website. I'd give them a call and ask about their products and prices. At the very least it will give you another option.

We put an aftermarket concave in an R52 once and by the time we were done, we wished we had just paid the extra $$ and bought through AGCO. None of the bolt holes lined up correctly and we spent considerable time re-machining the thing to get it in. I believe it was a Loewen concave. Other than that, it appeared to be a well built concave.

As for your LTM - early Huggers require some modification to make them work. The frames are not designed for LTM, but it can be done.
