I think like the others its too much if it has no AC. However the 540 V8 is a trouble free engine all the years I have been around them have seen very few apart. And they sound so cool. If they did come apart it was because some one did something like run it out of oil or got it hot. If you go to the 2000 series with the V8 make sure they do not have the CAV fuel system as that caused alot of problems with the engine.
