MITAS 4wd tires -- any real world experience?

I have been pricing 800 metric tires in Canada. All the major brands (firestone, Michelin, Goodyear) are extremely expensive -- a lot of it has to do with the cad/usd exchange rate.

I got a quote for Mitas tires that is significantly less ($1000/tire) than the GoodYears.

Has anyone had any experience with these tires? Any views on value/quality?

Just on a side note , shouldn't the price of tires actually be going down since the price of a barrel of oil is down dramatically ??:sFun_doh2:

We have a set of Mitas tires on our row gator for floats, I forget the size. They've been on there for 3 or 4 seasons of doing burn down, pre emerge and top dressing wheat, we switch to the skinny Michelins for row crop post emerge spraying. The tires have show little wear and have deep lugs. The plant in Iowa is supposed to be the newest and most advanced in America.

Mitas tires are a sister company to Continental tires. They have some interesting tire concepts being tested in Europe right now. YouTube has some videos. We have them on a couple tractors. Can not tell you how long they last the tractors get traded before they ever wear out. I can't give you any reasons why I wouldn't put them on something.
