Looked at a 9680 today and when I started it up the yellow warning light on the dash I think it was for the hydraulic oil came on stayed on for a while. The guy that was showing it said it goes out after a while could it be filters, pump or that is was cold ?

I have a 9384 and the bypass light comes on as soon as the weather gets colder. It sometimes takes a long time to go out seems like I have to work tractor before it will go out. It will go out but come back on when engine is sped up have to increase RPM real slow to keep it out.

Can anyone tell me if it hurts to run with light on?

New filters only seem to help for short while.

I'm not sure if it's sensing bypass, for two reasons. First, I think the light will come on if the oil gets low, which is partly what it is designed for, it shouldn't be bypassing the filter just because it's low on oil. Also, no oil filter can handle the pressure side of a hydraulic system so the filter is in the suction line. In this case there is no low pressure charge pump. I would think the sensor is just triggerd by excessive vacuum and the filter is either cold or needs changing.

The 9682 that I drove had a flaw in the design of the wire harness. The wire to the hydraulic sensor went to the transmission light on the dash and the wire from the transmission sensor went to the hydraulic filter light. They were different lengths with one being to short to cross over on the sensors. I expect there are lots of them with this flaw.

If the filters do the same thing again in a short while in normal running temperatures you may want to change the fluid. Last resort change the sensor I guess, but you better verify which sensor is actually triggering the light.

My 2360 does the same thing when it's cold out. When cold started, the transmission fluid level actually drops below the sight-gauge level until the oil has warmed up and the yellow warning light comes on. Upon warming up, the oil level returns to normal level and the light goes out. I wouldn't be too concerned about it.

Couple things agree, with filters, yes they come on for a reason, when cold yes, nature of the beast, oil level need to between low and high of sight gauge, agree with oil, last resort, there is a suction screen on r/h side where you put oil in it tranny will have to be drained to remove, screren would be last option sender, check harness were clamps are, Scott.
