I have just bought a 96 model R62 with 2700 engine hours 2100 rotor hours. It looks stock standard with no upgrades. I am new to Gleaner but I'm familiar with them as our contractor ran R72s and now R75s and have been impressed with the job that he does and the design. Mainly grow cereals and some canola. Anyway the header appears to be in good shape, new front feed chains & bearings, new reco wobble box (30' 400 agco) and no stone damage. I bought it from a farmer who is retiring and has owned since new. The only issues have been several small elecitrcal problems, loose/broken wiring that have been easy to fix. The one problem that I'm finding not as easy is the separator and header clutch switches on the console stopped working and the previous owner rewired them directly to the battery with new switches in the cab. This works but obviously a bit of a stop gap solution. I have been trying to fix original switch and wiring but can't see any obvious problem and when I hook it back up it's no good. The seat switch has been bypassed (wires connected male/female fittings). I think the seat interlock module may be faulty. Has anyone have any experience with the a faulty module or have any other sugggestions what may be the problem?

There probably is nothing wrong with the seat module he just did that bypass so he could run the machine without being in the seat, as for the clutch switch I can't help other then check the fuses, relays and the wiring

I hooked our seats back up a couple years ago after what happened to our neighbor and his R-75. I was at my friends wedding and a bunch of neighbors were there when the accident happened. I guess one of the groomsmans brother stayed home from the wedding to combine corn and was combining some stuff that was down and it kept plugging the corn head and he was in and out of the combine all afternoon and one time he didn't shut it down and got out and kicked at the slug of stalks in the head and got his leg caught in the header. They had to life flight him to the hospital cause an ambulance could not get into the field cause the field was so muddy and they were out in the middle of the field. They had to amputate the leg right above the knee cause it was so bad. The helicopter flew over the church that I was at and his parents were right in front of me. So I hooked all that stuff back up cause it can happen to anyone no matter how many times you have done stuff like that in the past it only take one time to slip up. So if the interlock module is bad or disconnected get it fixed.
