I have a 1996 Gleaner with a hot hydraulic oil problem. First noticed it when I got a full hopper. I would stop turn engine off and check my cooler, oil level and everything seemed good. Thought maybe it was the hydro, checked filters for filings, swapped relief valves, same problem. Then pulled the wire off my master solenoid valve and tried my reel and it still worked. So I master valve is staying closed and sending oil over relief all the time. I pulled the valve off and found a broken spring on the poppet, had one in my tool box so installed it. Tested it at home and it seemed to work so I raised the header and went down the road to the field and before I got there the hot oil light came on again. Took the valve off again, cleaned it and tried again. It worked when first started up but after a few minutes in the field I could tell it was sticking again. So I bought a new valve cartage, changed it, checked out the spool valve above it, it moves free, I checked the relief valve and it seems to be ok. Valve will work cold, then stick closed and not release until you shut off the combine for a few minutes. Why won't the valve release while the engine is running. Its driving me crazy.

I was checking out the parts book and it shows an O-ring in the spool valve portion but shows it at the front near the seat. I can feel what may be an O-ring groove at the back side the housing of on the spring side of the spool but no O-ring in it. Has anyone been into one that's working to know if I am missing an O-ring. Lots of these parts pictures are not drawn properly.
