What is wrong with it on soft roads. If it’s a Eaton it should be able to be programmed to start in different gear and there’s different levels of programming for weight and use in the auto shifts. My older guys love the auto shift and young guys hate it. But honestly truck with auto shift does everything the others do without ever missing a shift or grinding a gear. Only time we have had trouble is if guy drives into deep snow you can’t rock it but it’s actually better on ice for not spinning tires once your used to it.

Do i really need to explain it? Every REAL driver knows why Automatics are garbage!..and the only reason Automatics are here is because all the NEW drivers can`t drive standard at all. facts are facts.
I can drive a truck just fine. I don’t mind the couple 18 auto shifts we own. When you have be going 18 hours straight at harvest I will gladly drive the auto home and go to bed. Stick shifting was cool when I was 18 not so much at 40 or when farm has older employees. A lot of farms buying brand new trucks lately and most have autos so we all can’t be crazy.
